Description
The endive is a delicious autumn vegetable. The bitter substances stimulate the appetite and aid in digestion and metabolism.
The variety is often used as a salad, especially in Italy, where it is served with fresh olive oil and balsamic vinegar. You can steam the leaves and serve them as a side dish for meat dishes.
Bionda has large, yellowish green leaves and bright yellow heart. The plants are resistant to cold and wet weather and even light frost.
