Description
Called beetroot or beets, these plants belong to the amaranthaceae family. Beets are far relatives of sugar beets or chard. They originated in the Mediterranean or in North America.
Beetroot contains a lot of vitamin B, potassium, iron and folic acid, making them very healthy vegetables. The beet can be used in many ways: but tastes best raw and finely chopped in salad.
Beet juice is also performance-enhancing and has a high proportion of sodium.
